THE MARTIAN WAVE The Martian Wave is back! Our first new issue will be released September of 2026 The Martian Wave publishes science fiction works that center around the exploration and colonization of outer space, with an emphasis on our solar system. We are only looking for stories set around that theme. If it doesn't fit that description, then it's not right for TMW. RESPONSE TIMESAll submissions will receive a response within two months of being submitted. It's usually a lot quicker, but as we've all learned recently, things sometimes happen that are beyond our control, so we will endeavor to respond quicker than two months, but we won't guarantee it. We usually will not comment on rejected manuscripts. FICTIONFiction must revolve around the zine's theme, no exceptions. Stories set in our solar system will be our priority, but we will certainly accept stories set outside of our solar system, but please stick to the zine's theme. We're looking for stories of at least 2,500 words. We
will still not read simultaneous submissions. We will consider reprints, but they will be a very difficult sale. Payment for first rights will be $25. Reprints will pay $10.
BONUS PAYMENTSThis is small press, so we don't expect to sell tons of copies, but if the zine is able to sell more than 500 copies (print and electronic combined, but not including authors' copies), we will pay an additional $10 for each story. ARTAt this time we are not looking for art submissions. FORMATSAll submissions must use standard manuscript formatting. Please send all submissions as attachments in rtf or Word. Please also include a brief third person author's bio. FINAL NOTESDon't send work that is based in other people's universes. All works must be original with no threat of copyright infringement. We will also not accept any work that is AI created, or AI assisted. If you're going to take the time to write a story, do it yourself. All submissions should be sent to martianwave at yahoo dot com.The Martian Wave DOES NOT accept snail-mail submissions. We're not including the e-mail address as a hyperlink because of spammers, but we're confident you can figure out what to do with that address.
